Privacy
The short version: what you log in hebomb stays on your phone. We do not collect it, we cannot see it, and there is nothing to sell.
What hebomb stores, and where
Your workouts, weights, bodyweight, goals and settings are saved in the app's own storage on your iPhone. If you use the Apple Watch app, the watch shows what the phone sends it and keeps no history of its own.
hebomb has no accounts and no servers. The app does not send your information to us or to anyone else, so we hold no copy of it. The one exception is feedback you choose to send, below.
Apple Health
Apple Health is optional, and you choose what to allow when you connect it.
- On the phone, hebomb reads your weight and the workouts you have recorded, so you do not have to type them in. For each workout it also reads your heart rate, the energy you burned and, for an outdoor one, its route to draw the map, and it reads your date of birth to work out your heart rate zones. If your watch did not record a workout you did in hebomb, the phone saves that workout to Apple Health, with its type and its start and end times and nothing else.
- On the watch, hebomb reads your heart rate, active energy and distance during a session, and saves the session to Apple Health as a workout. For an outdoor run, walk, hike or ride it also uses the watch's location, with your permission, to record the route, which is saved with the workout in Apple Health and nowhere else.
Anything read from Apple Health stays on your devices. It is never used for advertising, never shared, and never sent off the phone. You can change or remove access at any time in the Health app, under Sharing.
Motion and fitness
When you start a walk, run or hike on the phone, hebomb can read the phone's step counter, with your permission, to show the distance, pace and floors climbed while it runs. It is read on the phone, shown on screen and not kept. Nothing from it leaves the phone. You can turn it off at any time in Settings, under Privacy & Security, Motion & Fitness.
Camera, for counting shots
During a basketball session you can choose to have hebomb count your makes and attempts with the phone's back camera. With your permission, it looks at each frame on the phone to see the ball pass the rim, and lets it go. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent, and no picture or video ever leaves the phone. Only the count is kept, with that session. You can turn the camera off for hebomb at any time in Settings.
Feedback you send
Settings has a Send feedback page. Nothing is sent unless you write something and tap Send. What goes is your message, up to three screenshots and one screen recording if you choose to add them, the email address if you choose to type one so we can reply, the app version and your phone model. None of your workouts, weights or health data goes with it. Feedback is kept in a private Google Sheet, with any screenshots and recording in a private Google Drive folder, that only hebomb's developer can see, used only to answer you and improve the app, and deleted on request: write to us and say so.
What we do not do
- No analytics or tracking code in the app.
- No advertising.
- No selling or sharing of personal information, because we never receive any.
Purchases
hebomb Pro is bought through Apple with your Apple Account. Apple handles the payment. We never see your name, your email or your card. Apple tells the app only whether Pro is active.
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may send us anonymous totals, such as how many people downloaded the app or how often it crashed. Those reports do not identify you and do not include anything you logged.
Backups and deleting your data
You can save a backup file from Settings. That file goes wherever you choose to put it, and only there. Your usual iPhone backup may also include the app's data, under your own Apple Account.
To delete everything, delete the app. Since we hold no copy, there is nothing further to remove.
Children
hebomb is not aimed at children under 13, and it collects nothing from anyone apart from feedback they choose to send.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If hebomb ever starts collecting anything, the app will ask first.
